DETOXIFYING LENTIL SOUP

Image
Sometimes we need to detoxify and what can be a better time than doing it RIGHT NOW. Yes, have the detoxifying bowl of soup in your next meal. Something you can prepare in very less time and trust me your body will thank you so much for this nutritious treat. This wholesome and detoxifying soup is one of my top meals I prepare when my stomach crave for good healthy stuff. Usually, I crave for cakes and chocolates ;-) You don't need a detoxifying pill to eliminate toxins from your body. You must do it every day by choosing and incorporating food which detoxes your body naturally. For this fibrous and super nutritious soup bowl, I have used leafy greens, herbs, spices and lentils which are known to have detoxifying properties.  Let's get started: DETOXIFYING LENTIL SOUP  INGREDIENTS:  Serves 2  1 cup uncooked Lentils (Masoor Dal)  3 cups kale steamed and chopped (you can use spinach instead) 1 cup cherry tomatoes or more if you want  Fresh...

HOMEMADE MICROWAVE POPCORN

Image
Is there anyone who does not love freshly air-popped popcorn????? I have tried the stove method of popping popcorn. It works well, but the microwave version is so easy, so cheap and soo delicious. Sometimes with the gas stove method I have burnt the popcorn but this one is a full proof method to have air popped popcorn with no mess. Also, the homemade popcorns are better than store bought ones which contain nasty chemicals which are not good for your health. And yes the air popped popcorns make a wonderful healthy snack with just 31 calories in one cup. The best part is you can customize the seasoning as per your taste and preference. So if you are calorie conscious add less butter or opt for healthy oils like coconut oil or olive oil. For seasoning again add less salt or more as per your taste buds. And you can go crazy and play around with n number of flavorings, add caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, mint, sriracha .....I mean just what so ever you feel like having, i...

BANANA WALNUT CAKE

Image
I was astounded to see how many ingredients a store bought cake has. On an average 15 to 20 ingredients. Whereas if you make the cake at home all you need in a basic cake is 5 to 6 ingredients on an average. So rather than opting for store-bought cakes I prefer relishing the homemade versions.  This Banana Walnut/Pecans cake is one of my favorite. It is Eggless, super soft, moist and delish. As usual I have tried to sneak in healthy stuff in this recipe. So instead of using butter I  have used raw coconut oil and instead of white flour I have used wheat flour. Also, this cake is not super sweet. It is light on tummy and goes well with a cup of tea/coffee as well as make a perfect dessert after the meal.  In this recipe make sure you use bananas which are browned (overripe) as it will enhance the flavors. I hope you will enjoy baking this cake. BANANA WALNUT CAKE   STEP BY STEP WITH PICTURES  In a bowl sift dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking soda, bakin...
